Product Experimentation

Product Experimentation

Experimenting with product concepts is one of my favourite things to do. I see it as both a creative outlet and a problem-solving, puzzle-cracking exercise. Experimenting with product concepts is also a great way to keep improving my product process and sharpening my product skills. The following categories include some of my ‘product experimentation series’. Each series is slightly different to making great things.

‘The Redesign’ Series

Product innovation isn’t just about what you add—it’s also about what you remove, and how you restructure what remains.

In The Redesign Series, I reimagined well-known products I love— not just to improve the user experience, but to explore how these products could evolve to be better set up for future innovation.

‘The AI’ Series

AI is here — and it's already reshaping the way we build products. Not just in what we build (AI-powered features), but in how we build — from coding to designing, researching, and delivering.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with how AI can be embedded across the product development process. The work below explores different ways AI might shape product thinking, product craft, and product practice.

‘The Old & New’ Series

Sometimes the best way for a company to move forward isn’t with rethinking existing products, but with building brand new ones.

In ‘The Old & New’ series, I envisioned new products that established organisations I love could explore in the near future.

‘My Own’ Series

While a lot of my time is spent working on exploring products for others, it is a lot more enjoyable to work on my own projects.

In the ‘My Own’ series, I have pulled together concepts for products that I have played around with over the years.
