To tell you a little bit more about myself, I have had quite an unusual path int product.
I started my path in my late teens and early 20s where I spent thousands of hours designing and facilitating immersive workshops for youth.
In my early and mid-20s I studied Psychology first and later Management, where I focused on strategic design and entrepreneurship. During this time I used the skills and passion I developed in my early 20s to launch many user-centred projects. At the start, I focused on cultural entrepreneurship projects, and then later had my go at startups.
When I was 24, I realised that a passion, theory and a good knack of things, wasn't enough. I decided that I needed to learn much, gain more experience and further develop my product and design skills. I had a few stints at product support on startups, and eventually joined a product innovation studio. I spent the next few years there, learning everything I could about product, design, user research and design.
After a few years with the agency, I spent a few years leading new product initiatives for various companies while concurrently developing my own product and design framework and practice. I eventually opened a small studio where I kept this work, spending the next few years spearheading product, design and research work with various companies large and small.
About a year ago, I decided that I have had enough with the agency side of things and instead wanted to spend time focusing on one product team working on something great. I joined the Department of Agriculture as a product and user research lead, spearheaded the creation of a platform that oversees all of Australia's agricultural exports and have just started with a new team.
